How To Score More Clients With Outreach

Writing To Resonate (newsletter)

Hey guys!!

I just wanted to talk about this because, I’ve been getting these questions a LOT lately. So much in fact that I made a post on X about it and still people asked. So, I’m going to answer more in depth, here.

The questions?

“How do you outreach? To who? What do you say?” I’ll tell you in this email. But first, I want to explain that I didn’t learn all of this by myself. I had a mentor who has been SUPER helpful! At the start, I thought I could get clients only from inbound. That I didn’t need to do any outreach.

I was very wrong. At the start you need to do a ton of outreach. A small goal to aim for is reaching out to 15 people/day. That’s what I did. Hope it helps!

Now, for the questions.

How do you outreach?

Just reach out to someone on X, LinkedIn, Instagram, or even YouTube. But do NOT sell. I repeat, don’t be like those bots that right off the bat are like, “We just created the first ever living butt hole, do you want to see it? I’m sure you do, so here’s $30,000 off if you sign up today!” And then it ends up $30,000.

Okayyyyy, anyway, TRUST ME, no one likes that shit. You don’t get clicks on your DMs (because no one cares), no one likes you because of it, and they resent your product/service even more. I’ll get more into what you should do on “what do you say”.

To who?

I had trouble with this too. I only found the answer recently on a podcast. You might know it. It was Ali Abdaal’s Deep Dive podcast. This episode was his recent one with Nicolas Cole. And Nicolas Cole said these words that resonated with me, “you should ONLY do cold outreach once you’ve completely exhausted your warm list.”

Completely exhausted your list. I had been sometimes reaching out and cold and sometimes warm. I had no plan. After that, I started reaching out to my followers on X.

And?

It worked!! I reached out to about 30 people and got 1 more clients. (Yep 30:1. It takes a LOT of work. Don’t think entrepreneurship is a walk in the park.)

What do you say?

Like I said earlier, do NOT be a bot. But what you should do, is this. Be kind. Be friendly. Say nice things.

Have the mindset of “I’m going to make a friend.” You’re not going to make a “client”. You’re just going to make a friend, no matter what. And if they don’t buy your service, that’s okay.

How I go about outreach is I ask them a few questions.

“What are your goals?”

“What are your bottlenecks to reach those goals?”

“Do you want to do it yourself or someone for you?” (I’m a ghostwriter btw, so that’s why I ask this one. You can customize it.)

You aren’t seeing if you can “bag” this client. You’re seeing if they’re a right fit for the product/service. Or. even you. If the client wants more than you give, and you don’t want to customize for them, don’t take the client.

Anyways, guys, girls, I hope this helped you! Now you don’t need to ask me about outreach anymore. So don’t.

(I’m jokingggggg, you can reply to this email with any questions. I don’t mind at all LMAO.)

Byeeeeeee. - Nick.

P.S. If you’d like me to do your outreach for you and write your posts on X, LI, IG, or even YT scripts, reply with “Writer”.

I helped U (a 68k follower and 6-figure business owner… wild ik) get 40+ users joined in 5 days of his new app beta thing launch.

All I did was write his posts in an engaging way, and included a nice discrete CTA right at the bottom.
