From McDonalds to 1.7M followers on Twitter
This is The Cultural Tutor.
He quit his job at McDonald's to pursue his passion — writing.
In only 1 year, he went from 0 to 1.7M followers by writing on Twitter.
Here are his 3 principles anyone can use to become a better writer:

First:
If you don’t know who ‘The Cultural Tutor’ is…
His commitment to knowledge started when he was 10 years old.
He’d read for hours upon hours upon hours.
Then reread for days and days and days.
And after reading thousands of books…
He wondered what would happen if he wrote every single day.
So he did just that.
And several years later, after finishing law school… he had written 4 books.
He tried many times to get them published but was rejected by all of them.
Over 300 attempts, but 0 replies.
And it crushed him because his dream — ever since he was 10 — was to become an esteemed author.
He'd written every day.
He’d read thousands of old books.
He’d studied great writers before him.
Yet, nothing worked…

Once the book idea failed, he needed a job.
He had no choice, he had no hope,
he had no money.
So… he went to McDonalds.
He worked there for several months, paying his rent, one small paycheck at a time.
It was okay for a while.
I mean, until it wasn’t.
He became burnt out and exhausted.
He could never hang out with his friends.
He needed a different way of making money.
So, he went to a friend for advice.
During the conversation, his friend mentioned to him…
‘Why don’t you tutor on Twitter? You could make money online so it’s pretty flexible.’ —
And that was the start of Sheehan's journey to Twitter fame…

You Need To Write
Sheehan’s logic goes like this:
Being a writer isn’t about ‘how many books are on your shelf, how many deals you’ve had, or how many followers you’ve gained. It’s about whether you wake up every day and write.’
One of the main reasons for his success was because he wrote. That’s all he did.
He obsessively wrote threads every day for
3 weeks total.
And every day, each thread was surpassing the last.
He kept getting more “lucky”.
And then… one of his threads got 30,000+ likes.
He couldn’t believe it. Millions were reading his writing after hundreds rejected his writing.
But none of this would have happened without:

Studying The Greats.
One of the biggest things Sheehan takes pride in is the sheer amount of books he has read.
1,000s of years of knowledge. All within his brain.
But the craziest thing about books?
You can study people who have lived before you.
Studying so many lives, so many failures, and so many memories — gives you a plethora of writing knowledge to tap into.
And that knowledge — for Sheehan — is what got him to his first 100,000 followers.
In 6. fricking. weeks.
But there was one other factor that blew him up to the moon.
This is how he got 1.7M followers.
The fuel to the engine was…

Speaking His Truth.
Sheehan’s 1 and ultimate goal is… to write something truthful.
His goal isn’t followers, or views, or money.
His goal is to write threads that change lives.
His goal is to write threads that spark minds.
His goal is to write threads that open eyes.
People saw the genuineness in his writing.
He wrote about his interests, followed his endless curiosity, and didn’t keep his mind closed off to possibilities.
And his 1 mantra that made all this possible?
“If you can write 1 good sentence/day,
your day is accomplished.”
So stop writing for views,
start writing for you.

Thanks for reading guys!
This thread came out today on X, and I’d really really really appreciate if you could go check it out there and give it a like or something.
Anyway, you’re fricking awesome if you read all the way through!
