How Dakota Robertson Makes $245k/month Writing Online

Hey guys!

I wrote a thread on Dakota Robertson’s story and his 3 best tips for writing converting copy.

If you don’t know, he’s a ghostwriter that makes $250,000 PER MONTH. I know. Wild.

(Obviously revenue, not profit).

But, here’s the thread. Enjoy!

Dakota Robertson makes $250,000 per month writing online.

But what's crazy is — his writing has amassed a following of 496,000 followers — all from the comfort of his own couch.

Here’s his story and how he built a profitable writing business in only 12 months:

Before we dig in, let me give you some background.

Dakota Robertson was an Electrician.

14 hour-days in the cold.

Mundane, repetitive actions.

Grueling, hard blue-collar work.

Needless to say, it sucked.

But he wasn’t sure what else he’d do

with his life. He didn’t know what he liked.

So, he quit his job to travel.

Listened to some podcasts.

And read a ton of books.

He thought the answer would be in there…

But it never was.

Then Dan Koe came along.

Dakota paid Dan $6,000 out of the

$8,000 he had saved up from his job.

And he went ham on growing his

X following.

100 engagements/day.

Niche strategizing.

Posting daily.

In 28 days, he made $11k through ghostwriting.

And in 1 year, his new-founded ghostwriting

agency net $50k per month.

But that’s not all.

There were 3 things he learned,

that really helped him level up his writing.

  1. Become Relentlessly Consistent.

At the beginning of his journey, he was frustrated.

So much effort went in, but nothing came out.

Eventually, he realized that the successful writers,

aren’t the most talented. They’re the ones

who write day after day after day.

  1. Use Personal Stories.

“While facts and figures can be compelling. You need

personal stories to connect with your audience.”

For instance — Dakota used to have a following

of 100k followers while working with Dan Koe.

But he made a whopping $0.

Then one day, he shared a story of his journey.

Being a “loser” who was utterly lost —> being a

successful writer.

He showed emotion.

He grabbed the reader.

He shared his personal story.

People started standing in line to pay soon after.

  1. Understand Psychology.

Through late nights, early mornings, and 12 hour days,

Dakota discovered the art of psychology.

He used trial and error, to eventually discover,

that you can have the best content ever,

but without a good hook, good

persuasion, or a good story, it’ll flop.

He found that if he spent most of his time on

the wording at the beginning, the post will be seen.

And the more his posts were seen—

the greater the chance of him

landing bigger clients.

If you have ADHD, here’s a quick recap:

  1. Become Relentlessly Consistent.

-Practice every single day even when

you don’t want to.

  1. Use Personal Stories.

-Use stories and experiences to

entertain readers while they learn.

  1. Understand Psychology.

-Your first sentence should pique the

readers’ interest. This makes sure

that they continue reading.

I hope you guys enjoyed the thread! And I hope it taught you something!

Btw, I’m not promoting it yet, but I’ve got a

free e-book coming out in the next 3 weeks!

It’ll teach you everything I know about digital marketing/copywriting so be on the lookout!
